ComradeNorgren
hey guys! New to this forum, but I've been watching all the videos on here for quite some time and learning a ton. Thanks again marc! Anyways i was wondering what was a good way for making a box-joint jig? i was going to pick up a router bit but is there a better way using the table saw? I plan on making some recipe boxes this Christmas and i think it'll look classy with some good old fashioned box joints. Thanks in advance for reading this! rmac
There are a million ways to cut box joints on a table saw. Some are simple: http://www.finewoodw...r-the-tablesaw/ Some are really complicated, but really interesting: http://www.finewoodw...gonna-love-this Some are somewhere in between: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/34835 -- Russ
Dave H
Great jig Russ, mine is more along the lines of the first jig on your list. Once you get it dialed in correctly it works like a dream, but I really like the moveable parts, and dials of yours looks like fun to build. thanks for shareing. chicks82
Matthias Wandel's jig is amazing. I was looking at his other jigs and he made a multi router lol now that is just awesome. Russ do you have plans for your jig? I don't think I am going to try and tackle Matthias's jig. I don't have the time for that lol.
rmac
Russ do you have plans for your jig? I don't, but that's actually the next thing I had planned for my blog. I'll try and draw them up in the next few days and post a link here when they're ready. -- Russ
chicks82
Awesome! I actually owe a few people on here a drawing of my bottle opener that I make out of scrap wood. Said I would have it posted last tuesday I think. I failed at that. I think I will draw them up now.

Tdoe4
Here is a box joint jig I first saw on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYxDXHGRRrk&spfreload=10 I made a few changes but my jig is very close to the youtube version. It makes great box and finger joints. Here is an example of a finger joint box made with my jig.
