Our little Jackson Pollock in training has produced a stack of abstract expressionism, filled to bursting with such gems as:

I see incorporating these into a folding three-panel screen along the lines of the following:

Typically, such a piece is built for pictures under glass. In this case, I see papering the tyke's artwork onto 1/4" panels of either fiberboard or MDF and then fitting them into a straightforward frame & panel construction. Bonus: Allows me to put artwork on the front & back.

This brings me to my question: How to paper said panels? My concern is twofold: The paint is mere department store watercolors, so my concern is that any sort of water-based glue soaking through the paper would make the paint run.

Next question is how to get things adhered nice and flat without a vacuum press. Wet with paint and then drying, the paper ends up somewhat hard and wavy.

Google- How to apply paper to wood. There are some good YouTube videos on this. One of the most interesting ideas is to scan the artwork, then print it out on transfer paper. As an iron on, it will be easy to flatten out and can be resized if needed to fit the area and can be removed with heat if you decide later to change images.
