Hi everyone,

I just joined a few minutes ago. I live in Leamington, Ontario, Canada. I've been watching the Wood Whisperer podcasts on iTunes for about a year now. I can't say enough good stuff about them and I've been spreading the word here in Leamington.

Projects that I've completed so far are: refinishing and custom staining (Minwax Mohogany furniture stain base with Austrailian Timber Oil top coat) my old cedar deck at a former house in Toronto Canada (the previous owner had the "brilliant" idea to finish the fresh milled cedar with interior hard finish glossy polyurethane - needless to say the finish peeled, I had to sand down the deck boards, railings and stairs and I also had to replace a few of the cedar deck boards because they rotted.

I've also made two bookshelves for my daughter's bedroom using the Kreg jointing system. As well, I built the deck at my house in Leamington out of Trex composite using my Kreg jig. I did this before Kreg came out with their deck system. It was an interesting project that turned out really well (you can't see a single screw, nail or piece of hardware on the whole deck - its all Kreg fastened from the underside and inside) (the deck also has Trex sides with no hardware showing - it is a raised deck - about 6 ft high) The railing is black aluminum from DekRail in British Columbia, again with no visible hardware. It also has recessed LED lighting. I cut, assembled and installed the railing myself as well.

My current project is a corner cabinet/pet Degu (they look like an oversized gerbil) enclosure. I'm using birch laminate plywood for this with some yellow poplar crown moulding around the top. I'm using my Kreg jig system to fasten everything together.

Looking forward to learning more and talking shop with everone.

Welcome to another Ontarian! I wonder how many Canadians are on this forum? Maybe Marc can do a shout out in his next video ;)
