Hi folks -

Anybody ever order replacement screws from brusso.com? Finally broke one installing into wenge (should've seen THAT coming  ) and I see nothing on Brusso's site about replacements. Or any way to email them, for that matter.

Thanks in advance.
Bob.

Thanks. I did see that, but I thought that being the 21st Century and all, that maybe I wouldn't have to spend long distance money. I suppose I could Skype-call them... :)

I had the same problem. I bought my hinges from Lee Valley, and they carry replacement screws for them. I unfortunately did find out that one set of the hinges I had took a #3 screw, which I didn't notice before I'd already made the hole with a #4 steel screw. Fortunately the sizes are close enough that it didn't matter.

A few years ago I was making a humidor with Brusso quadrant hinges. I was probalby excited that all I had to do was attach the lid to the box and broke one of the screws. If i remember right i got replacement brass screws from the local hardware store. It is one of those old stores that has a huge selection of weird fasteners. What size is the screw and how many? I may have some left.

Very generous of you to offer, Dave! In this case, it was just a very tiny box using their smallest hinges (JB-101). I decided to just epoxy in the screw head for appearance and limp along on three screws. (My wife will understand). I would have had to drill out the broken screw shaft, and I didn't think there was enough material for that, nor do I have the tools to do it. I guess I need to keep an assortment of Lee Valley screws around (I do have some, but not the right size) even though they're not quite the same. I just thought it would be good if Brusso allowed for this, and sold replacement screws. I know this must happen a lot. I'd routinely order spares every time I bought hinges, if they offered it.
