baok
Anybody have one of the plow (plough?) planes from Veritas? I've been admiring it and have it on my wish list.
tdale51@yahoo.com
I found a video the other day over at Matt's basement workshop on that exact plane. He seemed extremely pleased with it. I actualy found it google'ing what a plow planne was used for cause I had no idea. Now that I know it's on my wish list too.
mdhills
I picked one up used from a woodnet member who was switching to all woodies. It is pretty specialized, so I haven't used it too much. But what it does, it does well. Rob Lee has hinted that they are coming out with accessories that will turn it into a tongue & groove plane, too. I'll be very interested in seeing how that works out. The Lie Nielsen tongue & groove planes reportedly do their job really well (but again, very specialized) Matt
ChrisG
I have it as well as their router and skew rabbet. The LV plow plane is one of the most effective idiot proof tools I've ever used. I don't think there is an easier way to cut a groove. Also, Rob Lee has mentioned on another forum that they will soon be coming out with an adaptor for the small plow that will enable it use larger blades, so you'll be able to use it for slightly wider rabbets as well. This plane can do a lot of work and again, its extremely easy to set up and use. EDIT: OOps Looks like matt poseted the same thing while I was tyoing my response.
