First post: Wood gear clock

Just joined the website. New to the woodworking hobby and I hope to pick up a buch of good info on this website.

I Got into WW'ing from a love of mechanical wrist watches. It's very tough for a hobbyist to make tiny micromechanical gears,...but clocks are pretty large and use large gears that I can make from wood in my garage, so I do that as a hobby now.

Here is a recent clock I made. It's tiger maple with rosewood accents. it is operated by a 5 lb weight on a twine that hangs beneath it. The attached picture really shows the tiger maple well, but the below you tube link that shows the clock in action is poor quality and doesn't show the beauty of the maple.
