brandonblackburn
I have built my workbench and it turned out pretty sturdy - at the time I didn't have the funds to supply a vise - but now I am looking to add. I think the most economical option is to build a front leg vise. I am looking for tips/suggestions/plans on doing this. And most important - a hardware kit. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think the most economical option is to build a front leg vise. I am looking for tips/suggestions/plans on doing this. And most important - a hardware kit. Any help would be much appreciated. I have only worked with the Lake Erie kit, and it went very well. Granted, I did the install before my workbench was finshed, which is different then your situation, but I was very happy with it. I documented the entire install. Good luck! Jonathan ===========================================
dherbert
Here in Ecuador leg vises are very common. The screws cost $20, and no one bothers with the parallel bar at the bottom, they just use an appropriately sized block of wood.
