Has anyone been able to find a spec sheet on PM's new bandsaw that's coming out this Fall? I know the model isn't released yet but would like to try and find out a bit more about it other than what's on the limited video's from the WW shows... Specifically HP, max blade width, etc..

Thanks!

PM1500 has arrived. If you look at it, it's really true that's is a slightly smaller (and 400lbs lighter) PM1800 - they look almost identical. When i get it fired-up, ill post some feedback.

So what's the verdict? I'm on the fence between this model or one of the units from Jet. The PM is a bit more expensive but I also know their quality. In your opinion is it justifiable?

Thanks :-)

I'm going into the guts of the thing to rewire it with a 'proper' cord -- you've got to take the lower unit apart to get to everything... I'll take a good poke around and post... I think some value-engineering has taken place -- instead of a wiring block on the side of the unit (like all my other PM tools), the harness is threaded through the frame and lower unit... Obviously saves some $$ on parts and labor, but a pain if you need to change the wiring...

Makes you wonder what they were thinking. Mine came with a cord so short that if you pushed it against the wall it wouldn't reach a normal height outlet. My jointer came with a 2ft cord and my planer came with the same 2ft cord. Luckily my band saw has an access panel.

-- I bet it takes me 2 or 3 hrs to get a proper cord on this thing...

I'd be slightly pissed  Is the problem you mentioned with the power cord or something else? Surprised that PM would design something like that?
