  1. I like the video overall but too, question the need to remove the drywall.
  2. Mark, I’ve seen these called different things from across the nation from pellet smokers, flat top griddles, grooved grills, etc.. Can you provide a link as to the one you are considering?
  3. You are right. You are no longer an employee but an employer and owner of a business and must treat it as such. Workers comp, dba or LLC, taxes, product liability, etc.. It can be profitable and fun but it sure ain’t easy, especially at first.
  4. I see delivery as an obstacle as well. If the contractor receives damaged goods, they loading back onto the truck and returned for replacements with the factory or shipper responsible. If you damage them from your shop to the job site, can you absorb the loss? But I’m sure you are not the first with this idea and that some have succeeded. Good luck with your decision.
  5. Are your veneering skills good enough. Proofs in the pudding! Absolutely!
  6. And I guess it’s possible that this is not really cherry wood but stained as cherry. Either way, it’s sure going to be hard to match. Good luck.
  7. +2 @gee-dub, did you watch the video on the link that you provided? It looks pretty substantial.
  8. @Botch, I’m gonna try that sandwich recipe! I’m not much on tomato soup but yours looks darn good. If it’s not a secret recipe, can you pm it to me please?
  9. Drew, here is a link to answer your question about your lawn. The ABC extinguisher contains monoammonium phosphate and is pressurized with nitrogen. A MSDS, or I think they call it something else now, can be had on Amerex.com.. Not sure why I can’t copy and paste but the site is Vizagchemical.com. In summary, MAP or monoammonium phosphate is a key ingredient in agricultural fertilizers. My lawn is the greenest on the street. As far as training with one, yes, discharging an extinguisher on a live fire is an excellent idea. Aim at the base of the fire and not the flame with a gentle sweeping motion. Obtaining a charged extinguisher for training should be no problem. Every 12 years, this extinguisher requires a hydro-test which is usually more expensive on a smaller extinguisher like the 5 lb. and customers usually opt to purchase a new one leaving the service company, in our case, with literally hundreds of extinguishers each year to dispose of. They have to be completely emptied for a landfill to accept them as they are pressurized. We give folks a soft drink and a hug to take them. Most are just 12 years old and are in perfect condition.
  10. Find a place that’s accessible and not adjacent to the possible fire source.
  11. Cherry also has a nice sap/heartwood contrast if you can boards with sap wood.
  12. @legenddc, I just made a correction to my last post. There is a letter T after the model number instead of a K so you are getting one with a light duty vehicle bracket which is fine as it secures it to the wall and not just hanging from a hook.
  13. The B500 was our best seller and a darn good extinguisher. The other 5lb model is the B402 which has the same capacity but with a higher rating. I’ve used both in fire training using a 4’ x 4’ x 6” deep pan of flammable liquid and couldn’t tell the difference. You can get both with a vehicle bracket instead of a wall bkt and it will be shown with an T after the model number.

Fantastic. So some of those tv ads do work for some people some of the time! Wish you continued success.
