  1. Nice find! I do the same thing!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. It has a variable speed adjustment. Most if not all of them are variable I believe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm a curious newbie myself trying to broaden my horizons. This should be a good thread Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Wow, sorry I missed these posts! I cut a lot of metal on it, square stock, pipe, etc. I do however cut wood when the occasion arises, like chopping up a bunch of cedar shims or cutting up scraps for trash. Tell you the truth I've cut just about everything with it. I have a few different blades for it but haven't found anything catered towards wood, I use general cut blades.....my father has one of these as well and uses it when making cutter heads/cutter knives for his moulding machine. 5. I ended up with doing a mix of Ebony and American Chestnut. I did 2 coats and just a trial on one drawer face and I like the turnout. Il be doing the rest this way, I was surprised Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think I'm gonna go that route, it will be much more manageable to get an even color also! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes, I was just looking for any alternative options. I have a nice dye set but really don't want to resort to that. I'd be more likely to use a toner since I could get a more even finish. I was curious what the consensus would be on this peace just shellacked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I am refinishing an older Van Sciver desk. Made some drawer slide repairs (recreate) Someone else refinished it prior so I'm not ruining an original lol. Anyway, after stripping it down it appears to be Maple, where I thought I was stripping down Mahogany. So, I'm the guy who likes his Maple natural but this desk wouldn't look like with just a clear or tint right? I'm farting with the idea of using Ebony stain on it but need some options. 9. Most of the interlocking ones you will find are all the same crap. They tear really easy and are almost too soft for work boots as your heel with want to grab. Try and find some of gym mat sheets if you can they are much more durable and would be easier to clean Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thank you sir! That porch turned into me gutting and redoing the living room. She wanted her quartz wall and talked me into it lol. Nice quick fireplace surround from a cutter I made years ago. I'm about 10 minutes I had a custom primed surround. Haven't made moulding in a while but it came out clean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Higtron, it's one plastic knob, in seconds it's portable again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It was sold through a company called Swag off-road. They make some incredible products and are from the US which is nice. Also, it is very easy to attach and detach in seconds without tools. They make the stands for every generation of porta bands. It's so hand having it setup for quick cuts, especially for cutting up scrap for trash. I have it wired through the foot pedal. It's literally one of the most useful things I've purchase in a while! It's nice having a small miter on it too, even for cut clipping aluminum angle and pipe. Definitely worth it's weight in gold! 13. I've had this for a few weeks now and love it. Takes up very little space and works like a charm! Milwaukee deep cut band and swag brand table. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. It's not slippery in the least, even when it rains. I used messners right before winter so it needs one more coat. The only thing I don't like about it is that the treads are not fun in the snow lol. We have a large amount of blue stone ready to go down when the warms up a little bit more. I'd hate to have to leave green skid marks all over my risers from my inaccurate "whacking". I'm pleased with how well the one coat of messners held through the winter and will putting another coat on Monday. Il toss some pictures up right after coating. Omg the butt joint drives me insane! Ugh, I get nightmares over it. I have a plan to hide it, thankfully! Only time will tell how well it holds up, should have a decent life as long as I keep the UV from killing it. I appreciate all of the kind words! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
