  1. I'm happy with my Axminster/UJK Technologies guide bushing set on my OF1400.
  2. Quite a spread in specializations you have there. Mind me asking how on earth did you end up doing cooking, business mgmt, forensics investogation and airospace?
  3. Well, I have a CXS, PDC18 and a Ti15 and the thing Festool brings to drilling is the excellent Centrotec quick head/bit and chuck change system that works across drills and proper corner chucks for those situationa where you cannot fit otherwise. The CXS is my goto driver, but if I need more umph I can just detach what ever tool I'm using and click it into the PDC in a blink and get it done. In my humble opinion the Ti15 impact is the worst driver that Festool makes and definitely isn't worth the money they ask for it (I got mine @ 50% off so its good for that money). Impacts are so situational tools anyway that I don't really see their value. Also the Festool drill bits and Centrotec assessories are of great quality.
  4. No offence meant Kiki. I can somewhat relate with having seen my dads failed attempt after attempt go down the drain over the 20 something years he tried to quit. I guess at your neck of the woods eCigs are advertised more for quitting than hereabouts. What ads I receive in my email are touting ecigs as the 'healthy and harmless' cigarette of the future with great uses in social indoor smoking and higher nicotine concentration capsules than ordinary tobacco has for the 'better hit'. I heartily support any method that actually enables quiting and as I said in my original post even though the doctors are now finding different kinds of negatives from inhaling atomized particles the findings still seem to less harmfull than normal smoking.
  5. Never smoked a single cigarette myself, but lost my father to lung cancer which most likely was brought on him at the young age of 58 due to 50 years of smoking. Just bringing up the latest buzz on this and most ppl here see these ecigs as the 'acceptable' method of smoking inside since its quite widely banned now for normal smoking including bars. And no, I don't work for tobacco companies. IT here.
  6. Lately we have seen a bunch of medical research come out saying that the eCigarettes are not without harmfull effects. The findings have been about the atomization and microscopic particles being a hazard to your lungs almost as much as tar and the other stuff you get from normal tobacco. Better than tobacco in total yes, but substituting one issue for another. Also many of my smoking friends have found that they have quadruppled their daily nicotine input and are no nearer to quitting then before since they can now 'smoke' inside again.
  7. Steve Ramsay @ Woodworking for Mere Mortals had a magic project video a while back. You might want to check it out.
  8. Reception did change depending where in the machine room you stood, but didn't notice volume changes standing in one place. The machine room was in the bottom floor of a concrete building so in places you have 5-10m of concrete between you and the outside and lose reception.
  9. Don't use painters pyramids for anything heavy made out of soft woods. I got 'nice' dents in my fir table top when I was lacquering it last year. (Size abt. 2000 x 1200 x 30mm, had 8 pyramids under it)
  10. We had 8 pairs of Peltors at work and they all worked just fine for 4 years 8-16 working days continuous use. They were still fine when we gave them away when the last noisy machines were phased out.
  11. +1 for the CTL26. I own the AC version and must warn you that the premium you pay for the auto clean function is worthless unless you sand regularly dry wall or mdf. I work with wood and have AC disabled all the time.
  12. And having warning labels on salted peanut bags 'may contain traces of peanut'. True story seen on a bag of salted nuts I bought on Manhattan. [facepalm]
  13. I just ordered a set of two gr200's with free handle bridges & dvd thrown in and discounted by $30 as a pair kit from Woodcraft... The campaign is still running if someone is interrested. http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2004393/42526/Micro-Jig-GRR-Ripper-Model-GR200-Double-Pack-With-Two-Handle-Bridge-Sets.aspx
  14. On the first day of having my MFT/3 and TS55 setup I cut some 48mm thick boards on it, switched to 12mm ply and forgot to adjust the depthstop... Plunged clean through my pristine MFT top... xD
  15. Where I come from we have a skewed idea of cold ;-) Anything above -10C I consider mildly cool, -11 to -20C is a nice winter weather and when it dips below -20C its getting cold. If it goes under -35C I prefer being inside.
