Murphy - Testing hardware w/ partial assembly

Front panels attached to the metal bed frame (that you can't see). The bed frame is attached to the murphy hardware (spring loaded to assist in lowering/raising bed.

If you look closely - you'll see the fake hinges on the edge. They are just there to deceive your eyes when it's closed.

Vic,

There are a lot of choices for hardware out there. I went with a commercial setup because I didn't want to worry about building the bed fame, whether it would hold up, stay square, etc. Equally important was that this setup has it's own feet that loop around over the end of the bed when pulled down. Most other kits require that you build feet into your unit - which would have spoiled the shaker style I was going for.

I used the "Supreme Murphy Bed Hardware" kit from this place:

I built a murphy bed and side bookcases about a year and a half ago. Used hardware from www.wallbed.com. I believe Rocker sells the same hardware.

Mine was out of cherry and mission style.
