Bench Inserts

Lawrence Brown

A close-up of the threaded inserts. Notice they are countersunk just a bit so I don't accidentally hit them. These were a bit tricky to install. The threads themselves are fine, but the slotted end that you place the screwdriver into to install them kept breaking off. I finally flipped them over so the smooth edge would show, then inserted a long bolt all the way through and screwed them in with a socket wrench on the bolt. Once they were in deep enough, I just backed the bolt out.
