Joe Eagar

A knitting machine table I made for my mom. Legs still need final leveling, stain and finish (I like the constrasting color, so I'm just going to get something to take the green out of the poplar). Unfortunately the wedges I bought for leveling the legs were too cheap for the level of precision I needed (I stupidly forgot to add a couple inches to the legs).

I used mortice and tenons for the legs and aprons (the kind where you cut half of the tenon shallower than the other).  I also added square reinforcement blocks at the corner, though due to a stupid lack of forsight only one side of the blocks are screwed in; as you can see, you can't get a drill perpindicular to the long aprons, only the short ones.  The blocks are simply glued to the long aprons (I made sure to align the face grain), which I think is fine.

This is the first time I rounded my tenons instead of rounding the mortises.  Not only is it much easier and quicker to do, it looks cooler when you show it to your friends and family.  Also the first time I cut the mortises with a router (well, correctly, at least).
