    New Table Saw

Update from ACME.. Seems I finally got their attention as well.. Also, for the record, it was submitted on multiple occasions because it was denied on each occasion. I would like to start by apologizing that your review isn't currently published on our website. We have run into an issue as the review was submitted several times and that caused it to be pulled off of our website. We have been working with the company that moderates these reviews for us as we feel it is an honest review that should be published. The issue is currently being addressed by an escalated team. As soon as we hear back from them that it will be published on our site again, I will let you know. Also, if you have any issues with the replacement saw, let us know and I'll have a team dedicated to making sure you are taken care of. Thanks again for your business and for your patience while we work to resolve this. Have a great day, Bill Rieger Ecommerce Manager Acme Tools
  2. Nice looking set up! Nothing wrong with being mostly hand tools. Welcome to the forums!
  3. I have multiple routers in my shop as well and have always enjoyed the Bosch 1617. I haven't had the issue that Jim mentioned or really heard of it for that matter. However, if it happened to Jim, I'm sure there are others. I saw your welcome post and you also asked what other tools should be on your list. There's quite a few shop tours here and on YouTube. You might take a look at some of those for some inspiration. Regardless, the big 3 is pretty much where it all starts. Planer, Jointer, and Table Saw. After that Dust Collector, Bandsaw, and Drum Sander would be my list. Then, Drill Press, and Miter Saw. That's just my opinion but, the first 3 is usually agreed upon.
  4. Welcome to the forums! This is indeed a very deep and expensive rabbet hole! Some good people here to help you along the way!
  5. Another Johnson's vote.. Like stated above, my shop is climate controlled so, I do it about twice a year. I've used Renaissance in the past and didn't notice any difference from the much less expensive Johnson's.

    New Table Saw

I actually filed complaints with the BBB and the Attorney General. Both sent ACME notice of the complaint. The AG office called me and told me this is really common. However, since it's a private business there's really not much they can do. They can manipulate reviews pretty much any way they want. They did say that if there were enough complaints, that would give them more leverage to make change but, not many people complain. She said people just tend to move on rather than get involved.

Thanks.. I know I certainly won't be ordering anything from ACME in the future, and that includes through Amazon. I also highly doubt there will be any more PM products added to my shop. I still have a couple things I want for the shop but, I'll be looking at other options.

    New Table Saw

The new table saw has arrived.. I only unpacked it this far to check for any shipping damage.. PM's authorized rep can do the rest..
  10. Welcome to the forum sikegirl, do you realize that this thread is 3 years old? Also, Astro Dave hasn't been on the forums since last year.
  11. Just pay attention that that spacing will work for most bits, anything unusually large and you'll be banging your bits
  12. Welcome to the forums Randy. Can you show us a picture?
  13. In fairness to Robert, his machine is the older version and has some history with him. Not sure where his was manufactured but, mine was in Taiwan. Because of his history with this particular saw, this seems like a pretty good deal for somebody.
  14. Rockler makes inserts that accept both 1/4" and 1/2" shanks which I found helpful!
  15. I have a Grizzly one that collects dust because I tend to use the shop made one more often.
  16. I don't think you'll be disappointed.. Mine only extends out a few inches but, has just never been an issue.
  17. Below is a picture of my miter station with the Kapex which I built before the Guild series came out. After seeing Marc's build, mine just isn't that much different so, perhaps I can answer some questions for you or grab some specific measurements for you if needed. My cabinets are tight to the wall and I do have trim on the backside of my top as well. The Kapex does ride the front a bit but, I've run stock larger than the capacity of the saw and not had any issues. Please let me know if you want any close up pics or have questions..

    Work Bench Top

Agree with Chet.. I know Grizzly has some bench tops that you can purchase but, they don't come with vises and dog holes, you'd have to do that yourself.
  19. Solid plan.. The 2 ribs on the ends could be done away with and BB ends put on the top. Slotted screws should work fine as well.
  20. You might look at the WoodWhisperer Guild site for the Maloof Rocking Chair.. It looks intimidating but, it's certainly doable.

    New Table Saw

I'll be dropping a video this week as an update to what's going on with the saw. The biggest part is the censorship by ACME! Through my public postings and comments about this issue, it would seem this is quite prevalent which is not a good thing for us as the consumers! I should say that I'm not entirely surprised that reviews are being manipulated but, I am very disappointed, in today's environment, there isn't a real place for people to go to get legitimate reviews on products! Anyway, for you guys, here's my latest update on the saw and ACME Tool's response to my review. This will be released publicly early in the week.
  22. Once you get the first one under your belt, the rest will go faster.. Set yourself up some calipers for the different diameters..
  23. You can't go wrong at that price. Yes, you can get a mobile base for it but, I would see if you can get it on a smaller base to save room for you. Sharpen the knives, square up the fence and give it a test run. The big 3 are important in any woodworking shop. Jointer, planer, table saw.

I should also add that your response I took as very normal and was not offended in any way.. You are correct that lemons happen.

IF I make such a video, it won't come down. Other woodworkers being warned is far more important than anything ACME Tools can do! I'll probably file a complaint with the ND Attorney General and the BBB in the morning. I don't expect much but, it will be on record with them that way.
