  3. Thank you both I'm not looking to turn anything big right now just getting the feel for this. Turning is so much fun and I want to do more just not real advanced on all the possibilities that turning can produce. And thank you Mike for explaining the measurements and how they are measured.   8. Thanks. The guys isn't gonna come off 800 cause that's what he said he bought it for. Being fresh in turning I have made a make shift lathe to turn a little and got addicted. I could probably build one but I think I want to just get one and learn more only thing I turned was a handle its not beautiful by any means but it sure gave me the itch for more. Plus I keep watching videos of people turning bowls I want to do that bad lol. Since I might not be going with that one cause he won't come down any.   13. Hey guys I am looking at a Rockwell wood lathe not sure model number. But here are pic of the lathe. They are asking $800. Is that a good price. This will be my first lathe so I don't know much about it. Thanks all for the help. Happy cutting!!
