mostly stuff for family and friends, cradles, tables, bookcases, pens.....
  1. Or you do like the production shops do and use 3/4 material for the stiles and rails and 5/8 material for the panels.
  2. I have not used the jointer feather board so I dont know how well it works. My next purchase is an upgrade to the 52 inch biesmeier fence. I am currently using the 32 inch version. But found a real deal on the upgrade for only $150 for everything. That is the brackets, tube, and fence all for 150. I just can't pass that one up..
  3. Tony I also have an electric planer, it sits and gathers dust. A properly tuned and sharpened hand plane beats an electric hand planer for both speed and accuracy.
  4. Do you mean something like this http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=18925&filter=mag%20switch Mag switch stuff has been available in the USA for a few years now.
  5. You mean we don't get admittance to the dinosaur club at 50?
  6. I am with you on this one. I have been known to give my name as Nunya Bizniz. On here it is my real name. What it means translated from German is Charles Farmer.
  7. So what club do I join when I turn 50 in 13 months?
  8. Have you tried putting the Sawstop in bypass mode (essentially turning it into a regular table saw) when using the smaller blade?
  9. You would use an accelerator because you can also use ca as a filler. And if you don't use an accelerator when you are using it as a filler it takes forever to set.
  10. I have all three sets of the rover bits and a set of the twist bits. They do honor the warranty on the drill bits no questions asked. The drill bits are replaced for free even if the damage is your fault. I have not tried their saw blades so I have no comment on them. I pretty much destroyed the 1/2 inch bit drilling holes (with a hammer drill) in my garage floor to anchor a vise. Took the whole set to the woodworking shows a few weeks later pulled the 1/2 inch bit out of the box and started to hand it to the guy. No dice he wanted to look at the whole set and replaced three bits and hande
  11. For those of you who don't already know this Delta, Porter Cable, DeWalt, and Black and Decker are all the same company now. They are all owned by Stanley tool works. So if you have a hard time finding replacement parts for a Delta try the same tool as a DeWalt or Porter Cable. 12. Recycle the aluminum and treat yourself to a new CMS.
  13. Uh Poplar is a hardwood. Density of the wood has no bearing on whether it is a hardwood or not. All broad leaf trees are hardwood, all conifers are softwood. Which even makes balsa wood a hardwood.

Designed it myself. I just used 3/4 inch oak veneer plywood and sized it so that a standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of paper would fit inside the 2 bottom drawers. The top drawer is for pens, pencils, the T.V. remote or whatever. It was really a quick knock together thank you gift for my MIL for house sitting and taking care of my 3 dogs while my wife and I were on vacation. My MIL lives in a retirement home and has a small apartment there. It is sized to act as an end table next to her living room chair.
