  1. Getting a new table saw soon my budget is about $1000. Im looking at the grizzly g0771z. any one have experience with that saw? any other saw recommendations for under $1000. thanks!
  2. Im looking to buy my first "real" hand plane but im not sure which one is the most useful. So if u had to only use one plane which would it be? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk ive done it out of poplar and select pine, usually cost about $20 in lumber
  4. people use them as quilt racks. they kind of sit in the corner and you hang blankets on the rungs. this one was for a friend that saw it online and asked me to make it.
  5. This is the first one i did a few months ago, i made a few changes since but nothing significant. ive seen pricing online ranging from 40-150 bucks. i have people asking for them i just dont know what to charge. i dont want to under price or over price myself. ive only been doing this for about 9 months so i obviously cant charge the same as someone with a lot of experience. thanks for all the advice. 6. Well for the family i did just give them away as gifts but i was looking to sell more of them as a way to get my name out there to hopefully get more commission work. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  7. How do you guys decide on how much to charge for your time? I've made a few blanket racks for some family and im looking to try and sell a couple. Its about $30 in materials and takes about 5 hours of working time. (5 days in total). So i was thinking of 10$ an hour which would bring the total price to $80. Does that seem reasonable? 8. I just finished a changing table/small dresser. the outside it painted (thats what the wife wanted). I'm not going to paint in the inside of the case or the inside and outside of the drawers. Its made of Baltic birch plywood. do i need to do any kind of finish inside the case and all the other unpainted parts to protect the wood? thanks
  9. Fettling? Im not familiar with that term? Is it referring to sole flattening and blade honing? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  10. Anyone have any experience with the woodriver planes from woodcraft? Are they any good? Right now all i have is a cheap Stanley i think i paid 25 bucks for it. However i really wanting to upgrade to a better want. I don't want to get in the business of restoring and old one unless its a last resort. Right now im looking at woodriver and similarly priced Stanley on amazon ($120). Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. thanks. ill talk to her about that tonight!
  12. im well aware of that. the wife is making paint decisions and im not about to argue with a pregnant woman over paint brands
  13. yeah the problem is that zero adjustable part is off by a 1/16". ill try and take a picture when i get home tonight. but ill try and explain the issue. the ruler sits on the edge guide and the measurement on the ruler starts 1/16 over that guide. so say you measure over 6 inches the cut will be 1/16" short because the kreg ruler itself is inaccurate.
  14. oh haha sorry. it would be acrylic. we havent bought the paint yet. but i think it would be flat wall paint, however we could get it in whatever gloss we want. is one way better than the other?
