  1. I found this at my Lowes today on clearance for 21.98. That's less than 4.00 each! there was a box full of these 6 packs in the back of the store where trim is kept. After I grabbed this I checked the clamp section and it was all Irwin and those 6 inch clamp's were 10.00 each so it may be worth checking if you could use a few more clamp's
  2. What a coincidence! I just bought this book about a month ago and I really like also. For me it helps understand what's going on with the inner workings of the furniture.
  3. Arie, that is some very nice work. It makes me want to get my scroll saw out, lol. What kind of scroll saw do you have? I have a skil brand, I have used it a few times and I don't know if it performs as well as a more expensive one. I guess a skilled and experienced person could do a lot with it .
  4. Yes, thank you steve! I was just looking at those the other day and couldn't take the leap of faith but I believe I will now.
  5. Well I thought long and hard about it and decided that since I have most of those tools (not green one's ) except for the track saw, I'm going to pass. I would like to have a track saw one of these days, I'm not used to seeing tools like that on CL around here and got a little bit excited. Once I settled down I came to that decision, lol. thanks everyone for there responses.
  6. I thought you guys might have a better idea of the value of this offer, it seems like a good deal to me. I haven't heard much about the router though, I've heard a lot about the OF 1400 though. Should I take a serious look at this?
  7. I just saw this on Craigslist and thought this might be helpful for someonewho doesn't have a jointer at all. It is somewhere around tulsa.
  8. I saw this on Craigslist today for an estate auction and was wondering if anyone could tell me the pros and cons of having a machine like this. A google search came up with sliding panel saw,I have noticed that ishatani uses something similar to this also. Thanks Stew.
  9. Okay, I will use the router table, it seems like a good time to learn another way to do things.
  10. I need to route a couple of shallow mortises with my edge guide and thought about using this method ,each board has two clamps holding them. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks
  11. That's a good question.I have wondered the same thing, I've made a few with floating panels that looked okay and I've made a some from solid pieces. The solid one's seemed to have a tendency to cup a little bit. I may have been doing wrong though.
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome guys, @Denette no I haven't been to Steen hardwoods yet but now I will definitely make my way to little rock. I really appreciate the advice.
  13. Hi guys, I've been lurking around this forum for some time and have learned a lot from you guys. My name is Stewart and I live in Arkansas, I grew up watching my dad woodworking and didn't pay much attention back then. Somewhere around age 40 I started thinking about learning about woodworking, and it has been a fun journey the past few years. I'm going to try to get past my shyness and chime in on some of the topics you guys discuss on here now that I'm not lurking anymore ha ha. Anyway thanks to all of you guys for sharing your knowledge, I've learned a lot on this forum. Stewart
