    Dovetail Help

My measurement is from the Porter-Cable round insert on the router base to the end of the router bit.. I found this to be a quicker more repeatable setup process than the depth stop gauge.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wish the manual had been better at recommending a starting point for depth of bit. I used a cad program to draw and calculate the ideal depth - then tested and my go-to starting depth is .5745”.. I don’t think it would be practical to set this without a digital depth gauge. A 1/200th of an inch makes a big difference in whether or not it is hammered or wiggled together. I have been successful with plywood - but you need sacrificial boards to the right of your pieces in the jig. I also take a light cut (only going half into grooves) first going from right to left, then a full cut, then a clean up pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
