  1. I’m seeing a lot more need for adding a thickness planer to my power tool set (Dewalt 735 is a top candidate, possibly with a helical cutter head upgrade). I’m pressed for shop floor space so I’ve been noodling around the idea of selling my Delta 6” jointer and going for a combo Planer/jointer. This would save floor space, give me the thickness planer function and give me a wider jointer (but at a 2x cost). Looking for thoughts from anyone who has either option.
  2. Building a basement bar. Bar top is maple veneer plywood. Bar was attached by screws from underneath. Two screws pushed veneer up and caused small crack. Backing out screws did not flatten the veneer. Looking for suggestions to reduce/remove dimple prior to applying finish.
  3. Thanks. I was figuring that I would have to buy maple but hoped to save the extra cost and time in getting the maple crown.
  4. Working on a project with maple hardwood. Need a crown molding. Found an oak one and did a sample staining but it stained much darker. Any suggestions to reduce the stain absorption would be appreciated. Only need about 10 ft and oak is easily available and acceptable or do I need to purchase maple crown?
