    Reconditioning old doors and furniture
  1. I bought 4 beautiful VG fir interior doors from the salvage yard and worked on reconditioning them. Most had dings and scratches but the rest of the surface was ok. I used the orbital sander with much more dedication in the problematic areas and less on the rest. I went for the BLO as a finish and it looks splendid, with the exception of the franticly sanded areas. The wood is much more opened there and it gets immediately absorbed leaving the area lighter in color. What do I do? Do I keep applying BLO to these areas until they even out with the rest of the door? Thank you, Sofia
