Nick2cd
I know it's a little early to be talking about WIA since its not til October, but ya gotta start thinking about it sometime, right? This will be my first year attending and I'm pretty excited. Who else is going?
wdwerker
Never been to WIA but I get to go to the IWF every other year. It sure is nice when the largest woodworking show lands at your doorstep. No way I could afford to travel out of town for a woodworking show but the International Woodworking Fair is so big you cannot see it in one day. Wear comfortable shoes , bring a bag with a comfortable handle to carry purchases, freebies and literature. Take notes or you will forget which booth/ vendor had that tool you wanted a few days/ weeks after the show. Lots of demonstrations and classes. It's also a great chance to get your hands on something you have only seen in a catalog and be able to ask questions in person.
mikem
With only being an hour away, I am planning on it.
Orbb
Same here - it is 2 1/2 hours west of here. I think I am going Friday, at a minimum.
mds2
Where is it?
mikem
Just across the river from Cincy Ohio.
Orbb
Just across the river from Cincy Ohio. Covington, Kentucky. That area offers a lot to do - there is an aquarium in Newport, which is right next to Covington, and you can walk to Cincinnati across the bridges over the Ohio River. G S Haydon
I'm still watching airfares... Down to $311! I had a look too around the $1000+ for me .
jHop
It went from a "sure-thing" to "not gonna happen" this year. Unless something seriously breaks free in the next few weeks, I won't be going. (Really frustrated about that, too. It's only a 3 hour drive (with spotters) for me to get there. I used to live in Cincy, so it would be like going home, but not this year.)
Torch02
I'm ~75% sure I'm going. I have something for work in October, but they haven't decided on which week in October it is, thus the 75% ;-)
woodcanuck
I'm going....when it's only an 8 hour drive, how could I pass it up. :-) Actually this will be year 4 going, the drive is well worth it.
calblacksmith
I would love to go but the cost is too steep with air fair and all. I wish they had another one out here on the west coast, I only heard about it after the fact but it would be great to go to one!
