nail stained white oak

Recommended Posts

Well, I have not personally tried it since I haven't been so lucky as to have reclaimed white oak around me :)

But... oxylic acid should do the trick for you. The black marks are from iron oxides (some call it rust). The oxylic acid is noted as a wood bleach (though a bleach is a base ) and should take it out. You can get oxylic acid at any woodworking store. Like most acids, it can really irritate your nasal passages so ventilate like you just ate the biggest burrito of your life.
