Joe Eagar Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 I'm making an online-based competitor product to SketchUp, and I'd like to meet with any woodworkers who use SketchUp or CAD to discuss what workflow woodworkers need. I'm based in Tucson, but would be willing to drive up to Phoenix. I know some people feel a certain loyalty to SketchUp, but it'd be great if I could get some help. I'm a partially disabled software engineer who hasn't been able to find work, and 3D modeler/CAD software is what I'm good at. If you don't believe me, look at my portfolio. Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
adambaum Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Reach out directly to the Woodwhisperer. He uses it and is in Phoenix. Quote
Joe Eagar Posted January 16, 2014 Author Report Posted January 16, 2014 Reach out directly to the Woodwhisperer. He uses it and is in Phoenix. How do I reach him? I tried the contact form on the web site a few months ago, and never got a reply. Is email better, or maybe a private message through the forum software? Quote
adambaum Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Try twitter or his other website...Woodwhisperer.com, or something like that. Adam Quote

mar10 Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Hi Joe Just brain storming but you may have more success with the CAD / CAM forums. CNC ZONE , McSoft, Mach 3, Artcam, Rhino to name a few. 3D printing is hot right now and would be a good place to start. Best of luck Quote
