duckkisser
im shoping for round carbide cutters. im looking to make my own E-Z tools i have a source for straight cutter but not round ones. im looking at this web site but i dont know what im looking at if anyone is familiar with this type of blade can you recommend one of the blades that i should buy for wood turning? im guessing the top needs to be flat so i can resharpen the blades so that takes out the ones with a curve in the top. http://www.carbidedepot.com/Dynamiclanding.aspx?CategoryID=4285
Rick A McQuay
Got mine from this company, fast and reasonable shipping and better than the crappy carbides that came on my EWTs. http://www.ebay.com/usr/azcarbide

Rick A McQuay
Yep, square and radius blades are cheaper since they sell a whole lot more of them. Round cutters for woodworking have a steeper angle than those for metal, not sure if it makes any difference for turning.
duckkisser
hmmm good to know. i know the ones im looking at are at 7 degree angle. maybe too steep?
Rick A McQuay
I doubt it makes any difference. We are using them as scrapers, no shearing cuts like a jointer, so exact angles probably don't matter. The usual recommendation on a HSS scraper is to sharpen at anywhere from 15-30 degrees. Hans Chen
you know the easy wood tools use round carbide cutter , radius carbide cutter , diamond carbide cutter and round carbide cutter , why not find a supplier which produce them ?
