I've used the kit from Rockler. They have a matching color adhesive. The first time I used it, I was very conservative with the adhesive and ended up with a blotchy application. After that,  wasn't quiet so stingy and had good results.

Any tips on using it??

Yes. If it's a box bottom, flock the ply or wood before the final assembly. Looks at the green flocking in the first box. It was the first time I tried it and spread the glue after assembly and then flocked. It's not as neatly done.

Thoroughly mask off anything you don't want flocked! Be sure the finish is fully cured as well, or your box will need a shave.

For the hand-pump applicator, I found a large cardboard box lined with a big trash bag to make an excellent 'spray booth'. Be liberal with the advesive and the fibers, then just shake the excess fibers into the trash bag. Pour them into a ziplock for use on the next project.

I like flocking over felt for most jewelry boxes, as small projections on jewelry pieces always end up snagging the felt fibers and make it look stringy.

There was fun discussion of flocking on this weeks Fine Woodworking's podcast, "Shop Talk Live." Add in the Star Wars and Hobbit discussion, it was a good show, not quite up to WoodTalk, but close.

I suggest anyone wanting flocking tips to contact FWW and request Matt Kenney's excellent flocking tutorial.
