Shane Cole
Could someone tell me what these hinges are called and what they are used on? Thanks
Tpt life
I am sure there is a more specific name but I can get you close. This is a form of what are often called gate hinges and they allow the gate to be lifted out of the opening as Gravity is all that seats the pin. They are popular on gates because with the pin upright, the socket will not collect water. The parts are "abraded" each time the gate moves leaving it free without tools. A hinge like we often use on entry doors often needs to have the pin unseated with gentle tool force. Edit: Slightly bored so I went digging. http://catalog.monroehinge.com/category/flag-hinges And this. http://catalog.monroehinge.com/category/loose-joint-hinges
Shane Cole
Dont know what gate this will hold.. With the hinge fully together, it measures 1.75" x 2" But im sure your in the right direction... I was thinking about a cabinet door. But why would you need to remove a cabinet door???? Tpt life
This kind of hinge is used in my profession for instrument luggage cases. Orchestra bells sometimes have a lid that is completely removed for use.

In our kitchen cabinets, you would almost have to remove the door to get to the crap in the back
Trip
These get used all over the place -- last place I used them was a tear-down spray booth... Before that, it was pet gates… Used for marine applications all the time (hatch covers) – but then they are machined from 316 and cost $45/pair… Anytime you want to breakdown a three-panel screen (say a spray booth), remove a lid/hatch/door, etc… Very handy…
