Ryobi AP-12 Assistance/Manual Sought

Recommended Posts

Greetings gents.

I picked up an old 12" Ryobi planer, model AP-12.  By the placard it says it was made in '93.  I scored a sweet deal on it and it seems to run well and feed smoothly (after I flipped the blades over) but I don;t have a manual.  Does anyone know a source of a manual for this?

Specifically, I'm looking for adjustments, etc., to be done such as levelling the head to the feed surface, and so on.

:D

I did a bit-o-Googling first before asking.  I'm surprised nothing came up.  I wonder if the AP-10 was close enough to at least point me in the right direction.

If you REALLY want to get snarky with someone, use lmgtfy.com  It cracks me up but nobody else seems to think it's funny.  Here's how it would look:

Sooooooo, incredibly useless search for AP-12. Found 10 and 13 as well as parts explosions for the 12. I would find that enough to give it a go.

Okay, this may have been a little obvious but Ryobi actually sent me one.

You'd think they would have the original but beggars can't be choosers.  I've attached it here in case someone else searching Google is looking for it.

I was going to suggest contacting them. Every power tool I've bought used, I have been able to get manuals, technical specs, wiring diagrams in pdf for free for all of them. Most of these tool are no longer made.

I have a older 10" Ryobi planer. The blades mount into a holder with the edge aligned with a plastic jig that came with the machine. Then the holder bolts into the machine . Your machine is newer/ different and getting parts might be difficult.

Good luck !
