wouldwurker
It's a CNC machine...that also makes and scatters whispy shavings around your bench to impress people. For an additional $1000 upgrade, it'll leave scribe lines on your dovetails too.

G S Haydon
Very cool Mel, pretty badass way to rabbet :-).
jmaichel
That is a pretty sweet looking plane! I think Eric's post summed it up best. I would be afraid to use it for fear of dropping it. I would have line my entire shop with bubble wrap. Did you already get rid of your LN planes and what did you get rid of?
Llama
That's how I felt when I saw the box. And when I opened the box, all of my childhood dreams came true. It's truly a piece of functional art. So far I've sold the medium shoulder plane. I have a BCTW block on order, once that arrives I'll sell some others. shaneymack
Whats the difference between that and a shoulder plane besides being one of the most badass looking things i ever set my eyes on.?
Trip
Every single piece of BCTW kit I've got is a work of art... I don't have any of their planes, but will bet that those are works of art as well... Did you order the 'full monty' profile kit for the HC-10? With the nicker and depth stop, you can use it as a rebate or fillister... The depth stop makes the 140 trick a snap...
Llama
It's the full kit, but I didn't buy the crowning additions. I can't see the use for those in my shop.
..Kev
Those look pretty cool Mel, congrats..
Trip
I'd consider ordering the set... One thing about BCTW -- they tend to discontinue kit without notice – typically after a single production run... If you decide you want them next year or five years hence... Oh well... You now have the most expensive rebate plane in the universe...
RichardA
Damn Mel.... That makes my Stanley #78 look like an antique.......Wait a sec... My 78 is an antique. Man that's one beautiful tool. Ya done good young man! It'll out last all of us!
