Magic Molder

Nothing new under the sun.

Molding heads similar to these have been around for table saws and radial arm saws for a long long time.

I think Sears sold some.

I aquired my Dads old Dewalt RAS when he passed away and I've got one of these molder heads for it (not magic molder brand though).

I have used the Craftsman version. If you take small amounts off with each pass and set up a hold down and feather board (sideways to the fence) it works ok. I was always afraid of the cutters breaking or coming loose so I stood to the side while feeding.

Magic Molder looks much better but still take small amounts would be my suggestion. Softwoods might take a deeper cut but hardwoods maybe an 1/8 deep each pass.
