tcarswell
I have a big kreg router table with a 7518 router in it. Which lift is best for general use ? Will the incra masterlift2 drop in to place ? What about the kreg lift ?
estesbubba
Obviously Kreg will fit but also Woodpeckers will too.

tcarswell
Thanks guys ! TIODS did the lift drop right in to place? Do you need adapters for the 7518 ? Which one in specific ?
..Kev
When you look at the lifts, they'll tell you what routers they fit.. Just order the one for the 7518 and you're good to go. Pretty simple install but, mine went on a Jessem table as well.
tcarswell
Right on I was just worried maybe one of those three wouldn't drop into the router plate on my kreg table . I wanted to make sure I got the right one the first time .

estesbubba
That looks real nice. I'm going to build this cabinet for my Kreg router table. http://www.kregtool.com/files/projectplans/routertablecabinet/routertablecabinet.aspA month after I bought mine they came out with an updated fence system. Nothing wrong with mine but they did improve a few things.

tcarswell
Thanks so much for the link estesbubba I'm all over it I hate wasting storage.mine too is the old fence style I think the new one has on board micro adjust. Both big pluses for me i can live with a square on my router table base and i can buy a micro adjust . Feels like kreg is nickel and diming leaving out the power switch though :/ Thanks Chet ! Tom Cancelleri
Glad to see I'm not the only one with the Kreg table and base. Mike, I plan on doing that cabinet as well. Though I am making some changes. I had drawn up something a while back. I also have the whole package consisting of the base, top, casters, setup blocks, micro adjust (worthless piece of crap), 2 x feather boards. It's a good table, though the fence has some flaws. estesbubba
I watched a video and it looks like they changed:- micro adjust- fence adjust now uses knobs on back- dust collection- knob to secure fence is smaller and fence is easier to remove from table

The micro adjust is just the most horrid design ever. Where'd you see this video?

They don't leave much meat to attach a hose, etc.
Tom Cancelleri
I bought a hose and reducer for my 4" to 2.5" (I believe) the hose slips right into the dust collector hole of the fence. It has never fallen out.
tcarswell
I never had any dust collection issues it's pretty good .im building a dust bucket for mine out of stainless steel . An auto squaring fence would be nice for sure though!
prov163
Looks great! I love my lift. I almost bought a Kreg a couple of years ago at the Woodworking Show in Atlanta. Ended up buying a Woodpecker brand with the sidewinder lift. Can't imagine having a router table without a lift again.
MJC
Hello, I just put together my Kreg stand and table. I went with the Kreg lift as well and was looking for advice on recommendations for the router. I know which ones it will accommodate but I was hoping to get some feedback on what others thought was best from the list. I am not worried about cost I want to do it right once and be done. Thanks in advance for any input anyone might offer.
