Does anyone use nails any more?

Occasionally use 18 gauge power driven brads in conjunction with glue when making jigs. Smaller gauge hand driven brads are sometimes used too until the glue dries.

4" and 6" nails I would use in stud work for construction but mostly use screws for construction nowadays.

Never used hand made nails on furniture ... yet.

Nails are great if you want the fastener visible and pick out some decorative ones.  I've got cut nails from Tremont nail co, Rosehead copper nails, copper tacks (you can texture the head with a ball pein), brass tacks... but the carpentry nails only get used for carpentry.

Hmm now I am wondering about getting bright finish wire nails and blackening them.  That could look sharp.
