M Robertson
For the guy who was asking on the podcast how to make an angled insert...check out Matthias Wandel's YouTube channel, he can help you out. I think the issue he was having has to do with the fact that you can't lower the blade far enough to not need to drop the insert on the spinning blade to get started. Bad idea if it is tilted! The secret is to install 7 1/4" blades to make the initial cut. Hope that helps!
Gary-ks
Or just cut a shallow dado on the underside of the insert so the blade will clear when it is at the angle desired...........
Immortan D
Just make sure the 7 1/4 blade has the same kerf of your table saw blade. I have a couple that don't (thin kerf blades).
Barron
Depending on how large of cuts he is trying to make it might be simpler to build a crosscut sled. Just remember that the blade comes out the back of the sled at an angle so be careful where you place the screws to fasten the fence pieces. Don't ask how I know. wtnhighlander
Good reason to only use brass screws for saw jigs!
wdwerker
If you build a cabinet for a MRI room you use brass screws too. Forgot about the screwdriver and the magnet tried to take it out of my hand !
Brian Noel
That sounds fun, like something I would see on House. Good think you didn't have a metal pin in your leg.
