wdwerker
Listing says 440 volt so I am guessing it's 3 phase.
..Kev
Yea, 3 phase gets tricky for most hobby folks!

Janello
Phase convertor or changing the motor, either way you look at it, it up's the investment. At which point it's just easier to find a saw with the correct power. Like buying a diesel car but no diesel stations for 100 miles of where you live. Sure you can swap the motor out....or just buy a car that runs on gas.
minorhero
Unfortunately Janello is correct. A rfd for a 2hp motor could still make this a decent deal but if its 440 volt its likely 5hp which means your in rotary phase converter territory. If you are an electrician you can make one yourself. The rest of us need one to install a rpd which means in maryland you are looking at 700 for parts and more for labor. You gain at least 5hp ability at 3 phase which is cool but it would be cheaper to just buy a new or used unisaw motor at around 400$.
Janello
I have 3 brand new 220v 2hp baldor 3ph motors that someone gave me. First bid over $30 bucks takes them. They are door stops.

Farmers deal like this all the time. (You certainly are right about the 3 phase though.)

Janello
They actually have dust collection blowers and filter housings with them. My point was they are a hard sell.
Pwk5017
If this saw was 2.5 hours east of its current location it would already be in my garage and disassembled.
