Freddie
No it didn't, and sorry to waste your time by making you open this. But since you're here, what "tool" really raised the bar in your shop?
estesbubba
Bowclamps. I glued up my Roubo tops using only two bar clamps - one on each end.
Chestnut
My PM table saw. After i bought it i stopped fighting my saw and was able to just work forward. Also being able to use sleds was a game changer i never knew existed. Below is my first table saw, i still use it for remodel projects. davewyo
A decent set of chisels helped me out a lot, but learning how to use them carefully was even more of a game changer. Welcome back Freddie. Haven't seen you around in a long time.
JosephThomas
Lots of them...hard to pick. Probably upgrading from a contractor table saw has made the most difference though, since that gets used on almost every project.
krtwood
I'm gonna say a Kutzall disc in an angle grinder, mainly because it's a fairly new thing for me. I'm not really a hand tool person and most power tools are designed to eliminate most of the skill out of doing a particular task. Power carving on the other hand is designed to indiscriminately eviscerate wood as fast as you can touch it. So it's forcing me to actually develop a real skill while opening up a door to new things.

wdwerker
I would say the Domino followed closely by the drum sander. Better joint quality and alignment leads to quicker assembly times and far less sanding of uneven joints. Drum sanding stock to exact dimensions makes everything fit better. A pair of dial calipers confirms the sizes and let's you tweak the math for cutting to final length.
Immortan D
My bandsaw was a game changer for me when I first bought it. Still is the only power saw I actually enjoy using.

Brendon_t
Hands down is my bench. Having a large, flat space to work with almost infinite work holding capabilities is a hard corps upgrade that totally stepped up my game.

wnaziri
There are several game changers for me. However, at the top of the list has be having a dedicated workshop! My other top contenders are my workbench followed by the Northfild jointer.

Rapid Roger
First it was my Jet table saw then the De Walt planer were the big game changers. But so many other smaller tools, too numerous to mention, sure helped me along over the last ten years. By the way, all of them are up for sale now. If you live in or near Kansas and are willing to come get what you want, I've got very reasonable prices on all of them.
