PMV-11 made me a better woodworker.

My PM table saw. After i bought it i stopped fighting my saw and was able to just work forward. Also being able to use sleds was a game changer i never knew existed. Below is my first table saw, i still use it for remodel projects.

I'm gonna say a Kutzall disc in an angle grinder, mainly because it's a fairly new thing for me.  I'm not really a hand tool person and most power tools are designed to eliminate most of the skill out of doing a particular task.  Power carving on the other hand is designed to indiscriminately eviscerate wood as fast as you can touch it.  So it's forcing me to actually develop a real skill while opening up a door to new things.

I would say the Domino followed closely by the drum sander. Better joint quality and alignment leads to quicker assembly times and far less sanding of uneven joints.  Drum sanding stock to exact dimensions makes everything fit better. A pair of dial calipers confirms the sizes and let's you tweak the math for cutting to final length.

First it was my Jet table saw then the De Walt planer were the big game changers. But so many other smaller tools, too numerous to mention, sure helped me along over the last ten years.

By the way, all of them are up for sale now. If you live in or near Kansas and are willing to come get what you want, I've got very reasonable prices on all of them.

Are you leaving the hobby?
