Sculpted Bandsaw Boxes

I'd free-hand them on my stationary belt sander.

Cool design, reminds me of Dr. Seuss, for some reason.

Thanks!  It kind of makes me think of a duck.  Belt sander was how I reshaped the damaged areas.  I know I couldn't get it as consistent all the way around like that though.

I watched the video yesterday when it hit YouTube, these are pretty cool.

As to your question, since you have the equipment out, you could have use the power carve gear following some reference lines to get close and then finish up with rasps, scrapers, sanding, etc..  Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing the video!

I really like the way those look.  A few "irregularities" add to the hand-made feel and I don't have any problem with them.  Not sure what I'd do differently.  Probably more hand work.

Those are great.  I thought Dr Seuss too.  Almost looks like you could put a knob on one of the drawers and it would like look alike an eye.

Wondering it there are smaller carving attachments or maybe a dremel tool that would  have smaller attachments that would fit in the opening.  The irregularities looks nice though- more organic.  I just watched a bunch of your videos, and they are inspiring. I've got some crotch grain walnut that my Grandfather had held onto for years and never used.  I've been thinking about a box I make make out of it inspired by your designs.  Thanks!
