Art
I picked up a couple of these today: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-metal-sawhorse-0570035p.html#srp It's a pretty good deal. They are pretty solid, and fold up nicely to get them out of the way when they're not needed. I'm not sure how long the sale is on for. rodger.
I'm not a big fan of Canadian Tire, but I do pick up a few odds and ends from them. Currently I am waiting for a nice tap and die set to go for 50% off or more - usually happens sometime around Xmas. A buddy of mine has those horses, and he likes them for the reasons you stated. Let us know what you think after you try em out!
Bankstick
Just don't hit them with a power saw. I have the Stanley folding sawhorses in plastic. One has a nice kerf across the top. The wood ones are gouged, cut, and dented.
drzaius
Could secure a piece of 2x along the top. I think I'll check those out. Thanks for the post.

But they to have some good stuff. Most of the Mastercraft Maximum hand tools are pretty good. But never, ever pay regular price. They frequently have them on sale for 70 or 80% off. Jim DaddyO
I like the handles on Mastercraft screw drivers. I pick up odds and ends there too. Sometimes clamps can be found at a pretty good price, if you get there early for the sale. I bought a tap and die set there too, and my compressor. Those sales where you get things at less than 1/2 price are great.
drzaius
Those 70 - 80% off sales are a bit deceptive though. Those items, for the quality, are worth no where near the regular price.
