Keggers
We just had a Harbor Freight open up in our town. My wife and I walked through it this past Sunday and we didn't buy anything. One thing that amazed me was the large number of people shopping there. They were very busy.

Have the same experience with the Wexeley I bought. All those digits are really cool in the store. But start to use it and they're incomprehensible, and the last three keep dancing around if you breath. I made a chart so I could quickly convert to fractions and end up rounding to the nearest relevant fraction. If I were buying another caliper I get an analog. mat60
Some of the things are not junk and you would pay more for the same thing made at the same factory at other stores but it all sucks because its at Harbor Freight.

Make me think, is there a digital fraction caliper? Edit: http://a.co/imr2SHv Ask and ye shall receive...

Around $20.00 or so as I remember and is NOT a name brand. In fact, the only marking on it is "CE" what ever that means.!?!
Gilgaron
That means it can be sold in Europe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking

I bought this one on sale for $9.99 from (you guessed it) Harbor Freight. http://m.harborfreight.com/6-in-digital-caliper-with-sae-and-metric-fractional-readings-68304.html?utm_referrer=direct%2Fnot%20provided

I have been using it for a couple years with no problems. The only minor annoyance is that the battery door sometimes gets bumped and comes off. I bought mine on sale too and I think it was about $12, but even at the full price of $19.95 it is a good deal IMO. I use it way more than my brand name $$$ dial one or my brand name $$$ micrometers. Gilgaron
My digital does fractions but it is still the same problem when it is telling me I have 65/128ths and I have to think about that being 1/2. The fractional dial is much more useful to me. If I did lots of precision router or tablesaw runs I might care more, but with my workflow the extra precision just slows me down having to think about it.
Tpt life
64th plus is the finest you can draw a line. I agree that to move to 128ths instead of a plus or minus sign is not ideal.

Otherwise the battery will be dead within a week. I think it's the same issue identified here:

When I want fractional and don't need precision to .001" I find my Starrett rulers to usually be just fine and faster/easier than calipers any way. They have two scales on each side. One side is 1/32s and 1/64s and the other side is 1/10s and 1/100s. I most often use the 1/10" scale. I don't think I'd have sprung for the $$$ that these Starrett rules cost, but I have a few of them in a couple lengths that a previous employer bought for me.
