Stupid simple baby gate

Recommended Posts

Looks great man.  The match looks like you nailed it.  It's a little tough to tell in the pictures but did you mount the hinges directly to the newel?  If so, what is your plan when the gate is no longer needed?

Nope, I made a corner "L" piece that wraps around half of the newels and all hardware attaches to them.  They are simply zip tied onto the newels.  I drilled no holes into the newel posts themselves, so when it's time to remove the gate I just have to cut the zip ties.

Ah, now I see it.  Thanks for the explanation.

Smart man! Good work.

I just had a brilliant idea, probably shouldn't share it just yet, but... Zip Twine!

Patent that one before I do. $$$$$$$$$

The wife decided she wanted a matching gate for the top of the stairs...it was slightly different because I had to account for the hand rail.  I just extended out the newel post cover thingy.
