Popular Post Eric.
Ron came to the yard today to buy some lumber and we shot the breeze for a while. He's making resin-infused mallets now and he ended up giving me one of his prototypes, which I was extremely thankful for. If you don't know about Ron, he makes some nice saws with a very cool Art Deco flavor. I see Shannon using his Bontz saw quite a bit and he speaks highly of it. I don't own one personally. He's branching out and making some new tools now, so if you feel like spending some money on well-made boutique stuff, give him a look and throw him some business. I also have a half blind dovetail tool being made (which are awesome BTW). He's just one guy doing custom orders so the lead times can be a little long, but I think it's worth the wait. http://www.bontzsawworks.net/
Just Bob
That's a beautiful mallet! I would be afraid to use it.

Llama
I'll trade you a Blue Spruce one Really cool of him to pass along a prototype! I've been lusting over one of his saws.

He explained to me why he thought his mallets were actually superior to Blue Spruce, but I was really busy at the time and it kind of went over my head. Something about how his are "one piece" because there's a brass rod that goes all the way through. FWIW
Popular Post Llama
Interesting... Mine is ok for what I do (which is code for, "it sits on the shelf and looks awesome while I pretend to be a woodworker")
