Awesome! I want to make one of these real bad.

I didn't quite get 3" of snow but it was enough to paint the yard white.

Looks great! I had the same issue here in MN got 3" snow before I could do final leaf clean up but it melted and dried up enough I could do one last leaf pickup..but I have to admit it was a bit nippy at 31 degrees lol.

So are you plugs made of wenge as well? I really like that combination!

Yes the plugs are wenge as well, the transition blocks will also have 1 strip of wenge.  It should really pop when I get the finish on.

coming along great! Was the strips of wenge for support or a design feature?

I used to live just outside Atlanta, had a big ice storm one year and there were huge pine trees falling in the yard, scared the crap out of me!

I know that feeling. Ice storms are scary .Waking up and hearing branches snapping your mind goes "when is one going to hit the house" ?

Started the finishing process today, using the Maloof poly oil, then the poly wax.  Pretty easy process to apply.  I did notice I will need to sand a couple of spots where scratches became apparent after the oil was applied.  Apologize for the poor lighting, had to move the chair into my pool room as my shop is too cold for the oil to dry properly.  I will take better pics after I complete the finishing.
