Walnut Prices Climbing

New to the forum, first post. Howdy to all my fellow woodworkers.

Love working with walnut. Not sure the retail price here in Virginia, as haven't bought any retail in many years. I usually buy from local sawyers green and dry it myself. Last load I bought was about 50/50 cherry and walnut, 2000 bd ft +/- at  80 cents/bd ft.  Of course it's mill run, so a mix of grades with about 30%-40% FAS boards. The rest lower grades, but works fine for most projects as the lower grade boards  still yield good lumber for smaller parts.  here is some of it in the shop. All the 8/4, 12/4 stuff is on the floor.

The prices aren't bad for the thicker stock, but that's crazy talk for 4/4 rough.  Wow.  Hope it's some seriously nice material.
