Cabinet Carcass Plywood Selection?

Recommended Posts

I am fabricating cabinets for my wife's craftroom. My local supplier has a range of plywood types and I was curious what  I should use if I plan to paint these? I am leaning towards frameless construction, which means prepping the edges somehow for paint. Birch? Baltic Birch? Alder? Maple? Something else?

Any tips would be appreciated.

I would think the birch would paint pretty nice.  Maybe even get the prefinished so you don't have to prime just give it a quick sanding to break the shine.

Birch or maple whichever costs less. Both oaint execellant.
