Popular Post gee-dub
I was doing some layout for a vanity-top organizer that I'm making for the LOML. It occurred to me how convenient this is with the longer combo square blade I picked up so, I thought I would share. When I need to mark out control points for curves that are in the middle of a panel that exceeds my 12" combo square, I just slide in this 24" blade. I got it as a 'second'. It is made by PEC but, functions in the Starrett perfectly well. Add one to your Xmas list. You may find it comes in handy more often than you think. I stores in almost no space at all via a magnet on the inside edge of my plane till when not in use.
wdwerker
I've got (2) PEC 24" blades. Very handy when a mark needs to repeat in several points on a project. Got them from Harry Epstein online, but they don't seem to be in stock right now. I've been wanting a 18" blade but they are $49 right now. Sometimes Epstein has seconds/blemish tools that are accurate but have some slight defect. Not much right now.
wtnhighlander
I inherited my FIL's tools a while back, including a Starret combo square with 18" rule. The longer blade does come in handy fir a lot of things.
