collinb
Name your 1 or 2 (no more) favorite books on each topic #1 Woodworking (general skills) #2 Cabinet-making
MisterDrow
For #1, The Joint Book and Hybrid Woodworking are both great ones. If you like a little humor with your Woodworking, Nick Offerman’s Good Clean Fun is excellent.

Tom King
The one book that really got my interest going in woodworking is Country Furniture by Aldren Watson. Anything else he wrote, and illustrated, is absolutely worth having. I've built a lot of cabinets in houses I've built, but I've never bought, or read, a book on cabinet making, so sorry, no help on that. Isaac
I also enjoyed Mark's book. He has a wonderfully precise way of communicating important concepts. i also have one by Fine Woodworking that is basically photos and plans for a large number of projects. It is really great for inspiration. Want to do a table? Here are 6 different styles. Want to make a bed? Here are 3 styles. It is just enough information without being overwhelming. From the provided designs you can easily launch into your own unique project.

Bob Lang
This one: https://www.amazon.com/Cabinetmaking-Millwork-Fifth-Louis-Feirer/dp/0026759500/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1512225807&sr=8-1&keywords=cabinetmaking+and+millwork Is a great comprehensive reference and used copies can be found for a few bucks. It's a school text book but it goes through almost every process, machine and tool in woodworking. The photos are dated, but the information is solid.
