Bankstick
Quote If her idea is to transform this into this, I'd rather spend $249 on the latter and use my shop time for something else. The shop time would be to keep SWMBO happy. Happy wife, happy life! Been hitched 45-1/2 years, speaking from experience.
mat60
I'm feeling kind of guilty guys. She has always been happy with what she has. The bad part of this is me trying to guess what she would like.
gee-dub
This is always a tough situation. You have a baseline for reference that is built on experiences and feelings about furnishings that others may not have. The person who pays a couple of thousand dollars for a small dresser drawer unit knows that Wal-Mart has something with just as many drawers for fifty bucks. The person who is perfectly happy with a vinyl wrapped particle board unit cannot imagine why someone would spend the kind of money quality furnishings cost. Neither is wrong, they are just not likely to ever agree . Talk to anyone who actually has a high fidelity sound system and who actively listens to music. Other methods of listening to music are fine for them but, they are pretty inconsequential; like so much Muzak. The money they spend on their 'stereo' makes sense to them. Someone who has been raised on iPods and ear-buds would have a hard time grasping that a quality pre-amplifier can cost as much as a motorcycle. Different strokes and all that. As to how to handle your dilemma? You're on your own Roscoe. 1
