Saw blades

Recommended Posts

The long tooth thing is 2.2mm & the proper teeth are 3.2mm .

Going to get pictures of the arbor now,

The extra holes are for safety, the blades stop real quick on a Hammer t/s.

The arbor info starts at 8.00 minutes

The rip blade cuts nice and clean as you would expect from a new blade.

The wood (Alder) arrived around 09:00 this morning, so I've been working on the ripping the slabs down to ruff size for 11 windows,  4 external doors,  7 internal doors,  1 sliding door & one hidden door in a library shelving wall, so when that lot is done I'll start to make the 5 roof windows.

I'll put some pictures here in an hour or so.

European black alder or American Red alder ? I just looked alder up , didn't know there was a European type. I'm always learning something new. The red alder is easy to use but just soft enough that you have to be careful not to dent the freshly milled faces.

The alder was cut and dried locally, I assume it's European alder , Reddish colour

it grows like crazy here in the forest , all over 25 metres tall with very little to no branches for the first 18/20 metres , nice clean wood .

I have all the lumber cut & squared up for 8 windows with 15 openers & 1 door for the front of the house,

I'll be using the 250mm fine tooth blade to hogg out the rebate/rabbit for the openers then I'll unbox the incra and have a play around with some softwood before cleaning up the frames.
