Anyone have one of these and swear by it? Ive almost bought the 96" version a couple times now but it just seems like a lot to spend on something that done the traditional way with a long board and pencil is pretty easy and dirt cheap. Plus all the little add-ons and accessories they make for it make me feel like its going to have a higher cost down the road than just the initial purchasing price.

I use a story stick for things like installation, setting stops on my miter saw, drill press fence, circular saw guide, etc, and it works well. My story stick has trammel points, bubble levels and long protractors that can be used for those purposes. The Woodpecker one would be pretty much useless to me.

This is the one I have:

The Woodpeckers drill press table was a quick solution to a production project about 6 years ago. Could have built one but time was tight. It has been quite useful. I did modify one of the flip stops to add a little knob to make lifting it easier. I keep the bolts tight to reduce any slip/slop.
